Location & Directions

Rutland Biodynamics is a working farm, very closely tied to weather and seasons. Unfortunately therefore, we are not able to see visitors without an appointment. At present, farm walks can only be organised on planned dates in the summer. Please see News and Events for further information.

Directions by AIR

Rutland is served by four airports: Stanstead and Birmingham (change at B’Ham New Street) have direct rail links to Oakham. Luton has a rail link to Leicester, where you can change for Oakham. East Midlands Airport, although the closest is the least accesible, with either a 45 minute taxi ride here, or a taxi into Loughborough and then train to Leicester, before changing for Oakham. Oakham is a five minute taxi ride from the farm.

Directions from the South

Either: Take A1 and then A47 towards Leicester as far as intersection with A606 and then as FROM EAST OR WEST (below);

Or: M1 and then Northampton Ring Road to A34 follow signs towards KETTERING, then A6003 past Rockingham Castle, through Uppingham to A47 intersection and then as FROM EAST TO WEST below.

From East or West

A47 TO A606 intersection (large roundabout). Take AYSTON turn off roundabout which is the small country lane between the Leicester and Oakham roads. Continue through Ayston, by-pass Ridlington, down long hill, up a short steep incline and down again; up to America Lodge Cross-Roads, straight over X roads and down hill into village of BROOKE. DO NOT turn towards the Church but follow road round left hand bend and leave village almost immediately. Town Park Farm is on the left hand side on next bend (before Brooke Priory).

From the North

Either: From M1, junction 24, A6 through Kegworth. After Kegworth turn left on A6006 to Melton Mowbray, then A606 to Oakham. As you enter Oakham, turn right immediately in front of level crossing (i.e. before it), then immediately left into Long Row. Turn left at the end, first right, first left, first right (without crossing railway) into BROOKE ROAD.

Continue straight up the hill out of town. As you come down other side you can see a white farmhouse across the valley ahead of you (us), although you lose sight of it as you near the bottom of the hill. Past Brooke Priory on your left hand side and Town Park is on your right hand side.

Or: From A1, follow sign to Oakham B668, straight over mini-roundabout in Oakham High Street, over single gate level crossing and immediately turn left into BROOKE ROAD – then as a above.
